A to D: DATAQ RS-150, 12 bit res. @ 5 SPS. The instrument is aligned E-W. GND TYPE: The seismometers are mounted on a concrete slab floor in my home. The slab probably rests on several feet of saprolite over metamorphic rock. There is some local environmental noise. COMMENTS: As of 16 june 2007, I have restarted the seismometers after a long hiatus. Prior to the hiatus, I got great performance from the instruments, having detected quakes from around the world. The system has a sample rate of 5 SPS for each channel. Unfortunately, I do not have a precison time base, but rely on the computer's clock with periodic updates. They are setting on a cement floor in the school book room. Gilroy is located about midway between the San Andres and Hayward/Calaveras Faults… and we are located mid way between main line North/South railroad tracks and US Highway 101 which explains most of our noise.
